Since last week we can welcome a new intern at Websters: Santixai Narongsack, or simply Santi! He is in the fifth high school, studies Crossmedia at GITO Overijse and will be part of our team until April 1, 2025. With great enthusiasm, he is ready to gain new experiences and show his creativity. Time to get to know him better!

Santi, new intern

Who are you?

“Hey everyone!!! I'm Santi, a fifth year Crossmedia student at GITO Overijse and currently an intern at Websters. Outside of school I have a lot of hobbies: I play percussion, am in the Chiro, like to game and often meet up with friends. Occasionally I also go to the gym. In addition, I am a real movie and series fanatic. But my favorite thing to do? Annoying my parents and everyone around me famously! 😉” How are things at Websters and what have you been doing?

“I arrived at Websters on Monday and was immediately warmly welcomed by the team.

I immediately noticed that it didn't quite matter to them that I was younger and new that they just treated me equally, which I appreciated very much. Since then I have been working on a design for a banner from Websters and things are already going very well.”

A bumpy trail to the right direction

“My study path didn't quite go as planned. In the 6th grade I chose Heilig-Hartcollege in Tervuren - in retrospect, not the best choice for me. After two years, I realized that this school did not suit me and I had to switch to a TSO direction. That turned out to be a blessing in disguise! In third grade I started in Graphic Engineering, where I stayed for two years. When I got to choose again in fifth, Crossmedia attracted me the most. And honestly, that was the best decision I could have made.”

Why Crossmedia?

“For me, it was a combination of factors. The crossmedia industry is growing tremendously fast, even though I'm not sure if this will be my future. Moreover, I was looking for something new after two years in Graphic Engineering, and Crossmedia offered that variety. Videography and photography especially appeal to me!”

Future plans: still an open book

“What I want to do later, I haven't quite decided yet. If I continue studying, photography or graphic design would suit me, whether I'll work right away? No idea! Maybe one day I'll end up at Websters...who knows?”

Leisure: Chiro, music and more

For 12 years I have been a proud Chiro Reynaert-Kadolleke member in Hoeilaart. Pretty special when you consider I'm only 16! The Chiro feels like a second family. Whether it is the leadership or my group, I know they are always there for me. In addition, I have a passion for music, not only playing but also listening. For 9 or 10 years I have been playing percussion at APKO (Academy for Performing Arts Overijse) in Hoeilaart. It is more than just music, it helps me to express myself and discover my creativity.

My favorite quotes and why they inspire me

💬 “It's better to go too far, than not far enough.” - Sam Sulek ➡️ Sometimes I need to give myself that extra push to achieve my goals. This quote motivates me to push my limits.

💬 "Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, but today is a gift. That’s why it is called the present." — Master Oogway, Kung Fu Panda ➡️ This reminds me to live in the moment. I cannot change the past, but today I have every opportunity to make the most of myself.

💬 "The supreme art of war is to subdue the enemy without fighting." — Sun Tzu, Art of War ➡️ Violence is never the best solution. I prefer to avoid physical confrontations unless there really is no other way.

( Hope everyone reading this has a great day!)
