For four weeks, Websters is joined by Kyana, our youngest intern. Only 16 years old and yet she already knows very well what direction she wants to take. She is in fifth grade at Redingenhof in Leuven. During her internship Kyana will use her talents to strengthen the graphic branch of Websters.
"In third grade, I made the decision to change majors. After searching for a while, I decided to major in Publicity in Redingenhof. Here I can be creative and learn things that really interest me. Soon I realized that this is what I love. Since my switch, I discovered that I have a huge passion for graphic design and want to do something with it in the future.
This year we got to intern for the first time, two weeks in January and two more in March. After a long search, I ended up at Websters. From the first foot I put in here, it felt right. For my internship, it's important to me that I can learn a lot and actually participate. That is clearly the case here. I am very fortunate to be able to do my internship here with a great team that is mentoring me.
My choice to major in publicity fits very well with who I am. When I look back on this, it turns out to be the best decision of my life so far. I meet great people with the same passion and can grow even more in this environment. Here I also get opportunities to experience instructive things, such as this internship at Websters.
My internship feels like a dream in which I can learn a lot about things that are not covered as much in school, such as website design. The assignments at school are mainly focused on learning to work with Adobe programs and knowing the basics of good design. At Websters, I broaden my knowledge and apply the skills I learned in school to assignments for real clients. I get to be involved in designing the websites and get to watch the design evolve based on client feedback.
Every day is a learning day at Websters. It is a great group of people who really know what they are doing. I am grateful to be able to join this team for four weeks. They trust me with assignments and let me work freely and independently enough with the necessary help. Every day I leave for Websters full of enthusiasm and at night it feels like the day was too short. I thoroughly enjoy what I do here and the opportunities I get here."
